1. Who We Are
The Idiom Daily is operated by
JVIO Bogdan Ablameika (“we,” “us,” “our”). We publish English idiom and phrase content on this website and on social media, and we make
Phrio, a mobile app for learning English phrases.
You can reach us at
hello@theidiomdaily.com.
2. What These Terms Cover
These terms apply to this website and to the Phrio app. By using either, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
Our
Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data and forms part of these terms.
3. Who Can Use Phrio
You must be at least 13 years old to create a Phrio account. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live — 16 in much of the EU — you need a parent or guardian's permission.
The app has no objectionable content, but it is not designed for young children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
4. Your Account
You can use Phrio without an account. If you create one, keep your email access secure — anyone who can read your email can sign in as you, because that is how the code is delivered.
You can delete your account at any time in the app, under Profile → About → Delete account. That removes your account and your saved progress from our servers and cannot be undone.
We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms. If we do, we will tell you why unless we are not legally able to.
5. Our Content
The phrases, definitions, examples, dialogues, quizzes, illustrations, audio, design and software in Phrio and on this website are ours, or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other rights.
You may use them for your own learning, and you are welcome to share a screenshot or one of the milestone cards the app gives you. That is what they are for.
You may not copy the catalogue or any substantial part of it, republish it, sell it, build a competing product from it, or use it to train a machine learning model.
6. What You May Not Do
Please don't:
- access the service by automated means — scrapers, bots, crawlers — or try to extract the content in bulk;
- interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses, or try to get at other people's accounts or data;
- misuse the feedback channel, including flooding it or sending anything unlawful or abusive;
- remove or obscure any notice of ownership;
- use the service in any way that breaks the law where you are.
7. Feedback You Send Us
If you send us a suggestion, we may act on it, and we may build it without owing you anything for it. You keep the right to your own words; you give us permission to read them, act on them, and quote them internally. We will not publish your message with your name or email attached without asking you first.
8. The Service Will Change
We add phrases, change how things work, and sometimes remove features. We may change or stop any part of the service, including the whole of it, without notice. If we shut Phrio down we will give reasonable warning where we can, and your right to delete your data applies either way.
9. No Warranty
We offer Phrio and this website as they are. We work hard on the content, but we do not promise that every definition, example or translation suits every situation, that the app will always be available, or that it will be free of errors. Language is a living thing and usage varies by country, register and company.
Nothing here excludes any liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where the law allows us to limit our liability, we do: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost data where you could reasonably have kept your own copy, or for loss arising from your use of the content in a professional or academic setting.
If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights your local law gives you, and nothing here takes them away.
10. The App Store
Phrio is distributed through Apple's App Store. These terms are between you and JVIO Bogdan Ablameika — not between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for Phrio or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. If Phrio fails to conform to any warranty, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple may enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Your use of the App Store is also subject to Apple's own terms.
11. Which Law Applies
These terms are governed by the law of Poland, and the courts of Poland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your own country, or of your right to bring a claim there.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will say so on this page and update the date at the top. Carrying on using the service after a change means you accept it.
